Tad McCully is a long-time freelancer in the NYC area, and he is best-known for being the drummer for the Stormin' Norman Funky Horns act that performs regularly in the New York area and Boston area. Mr. McCully has recorded two studio albums with Stormin' Norman (aka Norman Zamcheck) and one soundtrack recording for the Documentary about Nick Ray, 'Don't Expect Too Much' which won awards at both Cannes and TribeCa Film Festivals.
Tad is also a long-time drummer for Mr. Burr Johnson, who's Burr Johnson Band has been a fusion mainstay in the NYC area at festivals, B.B. King's in NYC, Montreaux Jazz Festival and many many other celebrated venues.
Tad is also a busy freelancer, performing with a who's who of NYC singer-songwriters, bands, and many of the area off-Broadway musicals. Most of Tad's work requires considerable reading chops and Tad emphasizes that with every student, beginner to advanced.
As an educator, Mr. McCully has made a name for himself both in area schools, and as a private teacher.
